The position includes responsibility for design, programming and commissioning of turnkey automation solutions, as well as troubleshooting, servicing and debugging of software and hardware utilized in automated controls systems.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operations
  • Development and support of PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipment
  • Application and setup of VFD and multi axis servo control systems
  • Integration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency
  • Panel design (AUTOCAD)
  • Commission and trouble shoot robotic applications
  • Assist customers and/or co-workers with electrical/programming issues
  • Assist with specifications for purchase of electrical components
  • Respond to emergency service requirements including participating in a weekend coverage schedule with fellow team members
  • Provide electrical machine commissioning and/or technical support both on and off-site
  • Field installation work requires travel to customer's facilities


  • A minimum of 5 years "hands on" electrical experience required
  • Proficient in industrial machine controls, electrical systems, PLC and HMI programming with a working knowledge of multi axis servo systems
  • Able to create CAD drawings for assembly and wiring control panels and instrumentation
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skill in organization and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of production machine, and machine tool capabilities
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to the automation field

Necessary Requirements for Canadian Applicants:

  • 5-10 years industrial experience and minimum 5 years’ experience working with HMI and PLC programming
  • A valid 309 or 442 electrical license with minimum 5 years of Canadian experience would be an asset.
  • Hold a valid Canadian driver's license with a good driving record

          The Job:

          Our Project Managers are responsible for scheduling resources and managing electrical projects and ensuring that the projects fall within budget, required timelines and meet New Electric's stringent requirements for quality.             Job Description

            Perform the role as lead electrician/team leader, by mentoring other electricians as well as working alone on a project, whether it be to run a simple circuit for a 20 amp 120 volt receptacle, install an 1800 amp primary service, transformer and switchgear, design, build and install a PLC based control panel or install high efficiency lighting.

            The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, have some experience developing customer relationships and selling services and can hit the ground running.

              The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for the shipping and receiving of warehouse assets and for ensuring items are delivered in a timely manner.

              They will be responsible for assisting with the activities of the warehouse including coordination of all equipment, tools, vehicles and job materials.

              Key Expectations for the role:

              Assist with Warehouse Management

              • Ensure equipment is maintained and properly stored.
              • Responsible for filling and organizing equipment requests submitted by Field Services (in coordination with the Fleet/Equipment Coordinator)
              • Inspect and document issues with equipment being returned from the field
              • All field services kits (truck boxes, cleaning kits, electrical kits) are adequately stocked and monitored for usage.

              Responsible for Shipping/Receiving Activities

              • Ensure all items received are cross referenced to their packing slip and confirmation is given to Accounts Payable that the items have been received.
              • All items received should be directed to the appropriate personnel or notification given via email, telephone or any other form of communication deemed appropriate.
              • Items leaving the building are sent with appropriate documentation, to the correct address, with the correct contact name on the receiving end, and send via an appropriate method of transportation
              • Close communication with both Accounts Payable and the Project Accountant are required to ensure items received have an New Electric purchase order and items being sent have a client purchase order.
              • Ensure all shipped/received transactions are tracked and documented following proper procedures.

              Responsible for Warehouse Errands

              • Perform maintenance duties for upkeep of the warehouse and the building.
              • Responsible for making local deliveries when needed
